Hate That Smile were a melodic hardcore band who practised in Wareham and featured members from Dorchester, Wareham and Wimborne. The idea for the band came around the end of 1987, with some initial recordings. The band played their first gig in mid-1988.
With connections made in Southampton via their previous band Atrox, they also connected to that Hampshire scene aside their local Bournemouth/Weymouth scenes.

Some great gigs and recordings followed, but the band went their separate ways by the end of 1989.
